Monika Obermeier’s dissertation »Nur eine belanglose Geschichte?« examines the generally dismissed prose comedy »Grieche sucht Griechin« (1955) by Friedrich Dürrenmatt. Here the seemingly unambiguous ending of the story is shown as a challenge to the reader to find their own meaning in its intended ambiguity. MHDK was hired to design the cover for the 374-page book. With format-pushing typography and indented colour-gradients it provides an interpretation of the possibilities, but forgoes setting them in stone.
